If this sensor fails to function, the ECU will display an error code P00160. This indicates that the Crank Shaft is not in sync with the Intake Camshaft. It could also be a sign of a chain stretch or a jump in the chain link of the upper chain of timing. The code won't show without the additional information supplied by other sensors (G4 or G40).
It's a bit tricky to test because there are several pins on the connector and each has its own functions. 2. Injectors
Yesterday, as i was accelerating off the highway paytoll at a high speed I noticed a massive drop in power. It was as if the engine had run out of gas. Or my injectors weren't firing. I pulled out the spark plugs this morning and found that 3 were drenched in gasoline and the 4th was dry. I placed a tissue over each injector hole, and when i start the engine without sparks, the three with gazoline jump out. The 4th one remains shut. I tested the ground connection of ECU pins 14,30 and 48/55. I got 0ohm. Therefore, i think the issue is in another place.
I also tried to reset the PID without success. The car is able to start when the G28 is not plugged in and is running fine when it is plugged in however it has intermittent misfire issues at higher RPM. The coolant sensor (G62), even when it is unplugged, shows temperatures of -49c. Also i noticed that the gauge for oil pressure in the cockpit shows 2 bar when the actual pressure is 0.0 when i rev the engine.
I don't know what to do. I feel like i've pretty much all other possibilities out. I'm worried that i might have missed something. Please let me know if you have any ideas! TIA!
